Conclusion

 

With the publication of the French German history handbook, the initial reactions were unanimous to underline the initiative which exceeded for the first time the national framework in the way of teaching history.

The stake is at the same time pedagogical and educational, political and economic.

The Franco-German History Textbook has set itself the ambitious goal of paving the way for a hypothetical European history book that combines 27 ‘viewpoints’.
