Introduction

This Chapter, developed by University of Turin (IT), provides with a methodological introduction to the study of history through the exploitation of New Technologies aimed to all those who would like to approach the historical research, such as students of school of each grade, university students, PhD students, researchers etc.

The Chapter addresses the following issues:

- A correct methodology of research which include the knowledge and comprehension of the diverse typologies of the historical sources
- The ability in searching, finding and selecting the above-mentioned sources both in the real world and in the digital one
- The competency in correctly making use of the sources (analysis, description, quotation) within an historiographical research.
