The laws and normative acts on school manuals and textbooks have recently been pointed out by a distinguished historiographical analysis, started in Italy thanks to some innovative studies based on school manuals and textbooks as historical source.

The database provides a selection of the legislation concerning the primary and secondary school’s textbooks, issued in Italy between 1861 and 1928. Each record presents the heading of laws, decrees and ministerial circulars as well as the normative source in which they are inserted and the respective signatories. Finally, by clicking View full text, it is possible to display directly the full-text digital edition of the demanded acts on the screen.
