The Project
ContextThe progressive affirmation of digital historiography is introducing a significant opportunity for revision of traditional methods of historical research, teaching and learning. We are moving towards the possibility of having whole archives and libraries bought to use by a click of a (mouse) button. The digitalisation of printed documents and texts allows them to be easily consulted at distance but also allows access to films, audio and iconographic and photographic material etc. ObjectivesThe project has the following main objectives:

Work projectThe partner will have to carry out the following activities: WP 1 - Development of the Project Internet Web Site and Portal PartnershipThe Consortium includes 11 different subjects from 8 different European countries. Meeting4 Partners meeting will be organised during the project lifetime: Kick Off Meeting - Florence (IT) - 15th and 16th March 2008 2nd Meeting - Berlanga De Duero (ES) - 11th and 12th September 2008 3rd Meeting - Istanbul (TR) - 1st and 2nd April 2009 4th Meeting - Macerata (IT) - September 2009 The dissemination strategy aims to make the in progress and final results of the History On Line project accessible to the widest relevant audience. The dissemination strategy adopted by the project partnership involves a series of actions aimed to make the results of the project available to individuals who are not directly involved in the project itself (dissemination) and to acquire visibility, institutional consent, official recognition, further financial support and feedback on the project (sustainability). In order to foster the dissemination activities and motivate the project partners, an ad hoc section on the History On Line website dedicated to Dissemination (please see http://www.history-on-line.eu/dissemination.aspx) has been created . |
