This Chapter, Developed by Fatih University (TR), focuses on the use Periodicals (Newspapers, Journals and Magazines) for Historical Research.

The Chapter provides a definition and description of the sources: Newspapers, Journal and Magazine.

The Chapter analyses the birth of periodicals as sources for historical research and the development of media transition from state sources (state archives & documents) to civil sources.

The Chapter also addresses the issue of periodicals as means of expression of ideas on politics, economics, religion, art or education.
