This Chapter, developed by Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia UNED (SP), focuses on the use of school textbooks as sources for the historical-educational research addressing the following issues:

- Origin of the school textbooks and description of their main characteristics
- Possible use of school textbooks within the historical-educational research and possible related precautions in the employment of school textbooks as historical sources
- Definition of how to cite school textbooks inside a historical research
- Information on where it is possible to find school textbooks in the practical research and on the web.
